The first Fisher House opened in 1991, built by Zachary Fisher, a well-known builder and philanthropist in the 1980s and 1990s, and founded by Pauline Trost, whose experiences as the wife of a Naval Admiral led her to want to give back to military members. “The Fisher Houses provide an opportunity for military and veteran families to stay together and support each other when a loved one is undergoing medical treatment, as well as physical and emotional support to these families and individuals,” said Christopher Stanley, executive director of The Fisher/Nightingale Houses in Dayton. BRG Apartments operates apartment communities in Greater Cincinnati, Columbus, Northern Kentucky, Dayton, Marion and New Albany, Indiana.

2019 Goering Center Family & Private Business Award winners will be announced at the awards gala this fall at the JACK Cincinnati Casino on September 10, 2019. This annual recognition program, in its 20^th year, honors Greater Cincinnati regional businesses that exemplify the best in family and private business practices. Each year nearly 500 businesses are nominated for these awards and from those nominees, 75 semi-finalists are selected.

Three awards will be presented in each of two divisions: family business and private business. The Top Workplace award is honored by The Cincinnati Enquirer. The list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC, a leading provider of technology-based employee engagement tools. The anonymous survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.

BRG Apartments has partnered with the Fisher House Foundation to help provide lodging for families of Cincinnati and Dayton Veterans Administration Medical Center patients via its “A Home Before the Holidays” campaign. For every new resident that moved into a BRG community in greater Cincinnati or Dayton from this past November through January 11th, a donation of $50 was made to The Fisher House in that location. BRG is a proud supporter of the Fisher House and the last two years we have raised nearly $20,000 to help them support their mission.

(CINCINNATI and DAYTON, OH – January 26, 2018) On Thursday, January 25 at 10:00 a.m., locally owned and operated realty group BRG Apartments presented a check for $10,000 to the Fisher House Foundation at BRG’s corporate office on 265 Kenwood Rd Suite 111, Cincinnati, OH 45236. The donation was in response to BRG’s 2017-2018 “A Home Before the Holidays” campaign.

BRG Apartments has partnered with the Fisher House Foundation to help provide lodging for families of Cincinnati and Dayton Veterans Administration Medical Center patients via its “A Home Before the Holidays” campaign. For every new resident that moved into a BRG community in greater Cincinnati or Dayton from this past December through January 12, a donation of $50 was made to The Fisher House in that location.

Last year, BRG made substantial donations to Fisher Houses located in Cincinnati and Dayton to support their mission to provide lodging for military families when a loved one is hospitalized. For example, BRG’s $5,000 donation last holiday season to The Fisher House Dayton helped provide more than 167 room nights for families, which helps eliminate hotel expenses. To date, The Fisher Houses have served more than 20,000 families.

This year, BRG was able to raise a total of $10,000 to donate to the Fisher Houses. This will provide “a home away from home” for military and veterans’ families receiving medical care.
